About Social Change
Social Change is a national nonprofit committed to liberation and amplifying community voices through storytelling, direct action, and policy advocacy.
History
Social Change was founded in 2012 by two people, Todd Belcore and Emile Cambry Jr., who were tired of people and organizations with no lived experience telling our stories and telling our communities how to fix things. That is why they leveraged their lived experience to create a vehicle to address systemic inequities and empower underserved communities–led by members of those communities–called Social Change.
And what began as a small grassroots organization has grown into a nationally recognized organization, known for its holistic and transformative approach to community empowerment, empowering leaders, and for producing real results on a community-by-community and even multi-state level.
Mission
At Social Change, our mission is to create a transformative impact within marginalized communities through a multi-faceted approach. Our history is rooted in addressing critical issues such as food insecurity, systemic injustices, and the overall health and well-being of the community. Over the years, we have established a range of programs and initiatives to support these goals, from health clinics and legal assistance to free farmers markets and civic engagement efforts.
